À la recherche d’ombre et de calme par une journée d’été, le piéton qui transite par le Centre civique choisit de prendre un raccourci.
In search of shade and quietness on a sunny summer day, the pedestrians crossing the Civic Centre can take a shortcut that leads trough the garden area of the blocks on the boulevard. To reach it they must cross wide car parks and connecting streets without pavements: this intermediary area has been designed for cars.
It is a true slalom that only someone familiar with the area knows.This is probably why these alternative routes benefit form the best signage with the street being painted at times, probably by the residents themselves. Then, the pedestrian reaches a pavement bordered by hedges and trees that delineate the gardens pertaining to the blocks. For a pedestrian rather used to the concrete on the boulevard, the vegetation between the blocks seems lush, and the whole area seems to be rich in shade and freshness.
